The ruling Zanu PF party is falling apart. President Emmerson Mnangagwa is now fighting hard to stay in control, as his own deputy, Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga, leads a strong faction against him. The war inside the party is no longer a secret. It is now open for all to see.

Speaking at a politburo meeting in Harare, Mnangagwa attacked his rivals. He called them “wolves in sheep’s clothing.” This shows that even he knows the party is no longer united. Chiwenga’s group is growing stronger, backed by powerful people in the army and by war veterans who once stood with Mnangagwa.

The war veterans are now saying Mnangagwa has failed. They want him to go. These are the same people who helped remove Robert Mugabe in 2017 and bring Mnangagwa to power. Now they say it is time for him to step down. Chiwenga and his supporters believe Mnangagwa has lost the plot. They say he is no longer useful.

Mnangagwa is trying to fight back with words. He says only loyal people should be in Zanu PF. He wants members who are “Zanu PF by day and Zanu PF by night.” He talks about party history and ideology. But many people do not care about speeches anymore. The country is suffering. Prices are going up, people have no jobs, and hospitals and schools are falling apart.

While the leaders fight for power, the people suffer. Inflation is out of control. Corruption is everywhere. Human rights are being abused. Mnangagwa’s words about unity mean nothing to a hungry and angry nation.

The Chiwenga camp is no longer hiding. They believe it is their time to lead. After all, Chiwenga helped bring Mnangagwa to power. He led the military during the 2017 coup. Now, his group sees Mnangagwa as someone who must be removed to save the party—and the country.

The war veterans’ voice is powerful. When they say Mnangagwa must go, it means the fight is real. Mnangagwa’s power is slipping. He is trying to use the Chitepo School of Ideology to teach loyalty and discipline, but that will not fix the deep problems in the party.

The truth is, Zanu PF is breaking apart. The fight is not about the people. It is about power. It is about who gets to rule. The leaders are not thinking about jobs, food, or healthcare. They are thinking about positions, control, and riches.

Mnangagwa and Chiwenga were once allies. Today, they are enemies. The party is now full of mistrust, betrayal, and fear. This is what happens when power comes before people. This is what happens when leaders care more about staying in office than fixing the country.

Zanu PF has ruled Zimbabwe with force, fear, and fraud. But now, the biggest danger to the party is not the opposition. It is the fight inside its own house.

No matter who wins this battle, one thing is clear: the damage has been done. The cracks are wide. The party is breaking. The people are watching. And Zimbabwe cannot afford more years of selfish leaders tearing each other apart while the nation suffers.

Zanu PF is eating itself alive. And this time, there may be no turning back.

  1. This is just opposition propaganda trying to divide the party. Zanu PF is solid and focused on development. Don’t believe these lies. Mnangagwa is our leader and deserves respect. These rumours are started by foreign-funded agents who want to destabilise Zimbabwe.

  2. Zanu PF is finally imploding under the weight of its own greed and corruption. This is what happens when a party puts power before the people. The infighting just proves what we already know—Zanu PF is not about serving Zimbabweans, it’s about personal gain. The country is suffering while they play chess with power.

  3. Chiwenga and Mnangagwa are working together. This fake news about factional fights is meant to confuse and mislead the people. Instead of celebrating divisions, people should be grateful for the roads, dams, and development projects Zanu PF is delivering. Unity is our strength.
